Medical training has conditioned us to perform at high standards, “strive for excellence,” be competent, independent, avoid delegating, and asking others for help. When it comes to motherhood, these qualities will backfire on us since it’s simply unreasonable to hold ourselves to such high standards, be perfect in all our roles, be there for everyone and do it all, all the time! Unlike in medical school, kids need to see our imperfections and watch us fail! And our families need us to ask for help so we can feel relaxed and at our best!
We understand this is easier said than done. That’s why we are excited to provide valuable resources such as expert parenting support that help make this part of our lives easier and more satisfying!
